Jay Levine
Jay and his wife Mayilyn grew up on the South Shore of Long Island, in Freeport, about one block from Great South Bay. As a young boy, one of his vivid memories is being chased by his mother for "tracking sand into the house," which he did on a regular basis. Much of Jay's youth was spent on, in and near Great South Bay, Jone Beach and Point Lookout. As a teenager, he made weekend trips from Freeport to Montauk to go surfing. The Levine Family spent their summer vacations in Montauk since thier children were babies and in 2001 they built their home here. Jay and his wife Marilyn are full time residents of Montauk.
He is a life-long environmentalist, having helped to develop a food cooperative and recycling program while at college. Since his collegiate days, Jay has been an active participant in several environmental organizations and now serves on the executive committee of the Eastern Long Island chapter of Surfrider Foundation.
For 25 years, Jay has served as a management consultant to medical schools and teaching hospitals. He has worked with clients throughout the United States and has advised nationally prominent organizations such as the Institute of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health. Jay has recently joined the Board of Directors of Southampton Hospital.
Jay maintains a prolific vegetable garden, starting all of his vegetables from seed while the ground is still frozen. And, he remains an avid surfer.
