We got to know The American Littoral Society, a coastal conservation group that promotes marine life study and protects the coast, when they led a walk on January 8.

Winter Sea Bird Watch at Montauk Point
We launched our series of community nature programs with Third House Nature Center on a very cold, snowy Feb. 11, 2012. Though the weather didn't cooperate, the birds did! We saw gannets, red-throated loons, scoters, common eiders, a single grebe, a few mergansers and even a common loon!
